The 2024 Tokyo Marathon saw Eliud Kipchoge and Sifan Hassan produce their worst career marathons to date, which made way for Benson Kipruto and Sutume Kebede. Kipruto broke the course record to return the Tokyo Marathon title to his family, following in the footsteps of his brother, who won the race in 2014 and 2018. Kebede also took down the women’s course record, upgrading her bronze from four years ago to gold.
